Good Choices (Esther's Training)

She stands in the pale light of the street lamps, wondering if her decisions are right. Nothing seems to make sense anymore. She looks around to take in the area, the area she grew up, the smell, the feel. This makes sense, but ... It's different now. She didn't drive here, or walk, no, she willed herself to be here. SHE made it here, through HER own will. A year ago card tricks were mysteries, but, magic? Fae? Werewolves? Mages? Mages... ? She is a mage, she is a creature unknown to others.

She breaths in deeply, and takes in the familiar smell again. As she turns, she see's Professor Morris at the end of the street, sitting on a curb looking towards her. "You know, Esther. There aren't good choices anymore." He says, looking down towards the ground below. "I may not be able to give you the right decisions, but I can give you answers." Esther looks towards him, a general hatred burns within her... He's wrong. She can make it through by herself. She gives him the finger, and walks away. 

She walks for a day or so, down a long, narrow highway. It's night again and her legs are tired. Headlights are seen down the road and as the car gets closer, it begins to slow down. This isn't the first jackass to attempt to proposition Esther and she would deal with them the same way. When the window rolls down, two young men sit in the front seat. Metal piercings adorn their face, their hair all unnatural colours. The man in the drivers seat smiles wickedly and looks towards her. In a thick, British accent, he calls out to her. "Oy! Hope in love! There's plenty of room! 'Sides, it's dangerous for a little cute mage like you to be wanderin' by 'erself!"

She lifts her large headphones off her ears, cage the Elephant still blasting through them,  she picked them off some SOB a week before, he was a pervert but had good taste in music at least. she was numb, she longed to feel something, anything, if it had been another typical trucker instead of these punks she probably would of gotten in anyway, let him have his way just so she could feel something.... of course she would of killed him afterwards like always. but these two were different, they knew her little secret , their accents and looks already got her curiosity but them being mages... now that got her attention. "an't no rest for the wicked until we close our eyes for good " blared as the song ended as she with out a word stepped up into the truck cabin and her new journey began....
